Letter book containing copies of outgoing correspondence written by Smith Sterling  during the Omenica Gold Rush, found in the 43rd Mining Company warehouse on Germanson Creek.   The collection also contains playing cards and poker chips found on the warehouse table, when Robert Craig McCorkell took down the building in the 1920s to make way for renewed mining operations.   McCorkell taped associated ephemera into the book.   2012.27. 1- 4  Ephemera.

The John Boyd Estate Records 2008.28.0 are business transactions including cash deposits, bills of sale, trader and liquor licenses, accounting records on sale of property and a minute book of the Big Bonanza Mining Co. Two notable companies that came up several times in the documents were Beaver Pass Lumber Co. and Cascades Spruce Mills Ltd.

The typed manuscript is titled Laughter and Tears in Pioneer Years and contains an account of Verna’s experience growing up as the only child in the Bouchie Lake area in the 1910s and 1920s. The handwritten manuscript contains an account of Verna’s first marriage and some of her experiences living as a young married woman in the Quesnel area. Cariboo Pioneers were invited to ride on the first PGE train to travel from Quesnel to Prince George, November 1, 1952. The Cariboo Historical Society collected the signatures of all participants with the date of their arrival or their role on the trip ( ie  railway officials and employees, press, band members).    The book was used again August 29, 1956, when the line was extended from Squamish to North Vancouver.    M2004.31.1  Ledgers

West Quesnel Restaking is a photocopy map showing a section of West Quesnel beginning at the Fraser River and continuing for four blocks west and four blocks north.  North Fraser Drive was known as River Street on this map, then there were First, Second and Third Streets.  From south to north the roads were labelled Mcnaughton Avenue, Bartlett Ave., Maskell Ave., Ferry Ave., Akerly Ave. and Park Ave.  Scale: 100 ft. = 1 inch.  This is a copy of registered plan #772.  G1989.38.1

Edward Wintrip was a miner and blacksmith in Barkerville.The ledgers contains detailed accounts of the hardware he produced in his blacksmith business on Williams Creek for his customers, primarily mining companies.   Ledgers  M5975.140.1-.2

The collection primarily consists of approximately 600 letters of correspondence from Canadian service men and women to the Women's Auxiliary of the Canadian Legion of the British Empire Service League.  The correspondence are mainly letters of thanks and appreciation for letters and parcels received.  There are also some letters and records relating to business matters of the Women's Auxiliary.
