Bark

K’idlih lat’ooz - Willow bark was used for fevers. You boil the bark and you drink like tea. The willow bushes were used for many things; first it was used to make baby baskets “Yazk’i”. It would take a long time to make the baby baskets for it had to be dried and shaped. It was also used to make sling shots for shooting grouse and squirrels. The willow was also used to make whistles for the children.

K’entsi - Red willow, the bark of the red willow shavings is used for itches and skin problems. Boil the shavings of the red willow just like tea and take a bath in it. It is also used for sling shots and bow and arrow.

K’us Lat’ooz - Alder bark is used for burns; the bark is boiled in water and when it is cooled, it is applied directly on the skin.
